Scemed, founded in 1994 by the Folliot family and based in Halluin (59), is a French company specializing in the manufacture and distribution of medical equipment for healthcare facilities (hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, maternity wards). Its activity includes two main areas: transfer (ceiling hoists, stand-up aids, etc.) and hygiene (therapeutic bathtubs, shower chairs, and trolleys, etc.). Through innovative solutions, Scemed enhances patient well-being and improves working conditions for healthcare staff. Scemed generates over €15 million in revenue in a rapidly growing market.
Following the acquisitions of Pharmaouest and Herida Medical in the United Kingdom, this would be the third significant external growth operation for the Winncare Group since Siparex ETI became the majority shareholder in 2021. This merger would offer multiple synergies to the new entity and would notably allow Winncare to strengthen its Transfer offer.
Laurent Faugère, President of Winncare, said, “We are delighted to welcome Scemed into the Winncare Group. We share a long common history, with Scemed distributing our transfer systems, such as the Luna, for over 20 years. Our missions are closely aligned, focused on the constant improvement of the quality of life for patients and caregivers through innovative medical devices. This acquisition would strongly consolidate Winncare’s leadership in the rapidly evolving nursing home segment.”
Nicolas Folliot, President of Scemed, stated, “I am thrilled that the Scemed journey can continue within the Winncare Group, a solid partner with whom we have built long-standing ties. I am convinced that this is a fantastic opportunity for all the teams at Scemed and SC Productions to ensure long-term growth and create success conditions for the company. I wish all the teams much success and will follow the Group’s development with attention and interest.”
Alexandre Tremblin and Guillaume Rebaudet, Managing Directors of Siparex ETI, commented, “We are delighted with the acquisition of Scemed, which would consolidate Winncare’s offer in response to the growing need for patient and caregiver support. This operation would mark a new development stage for Winncare in a market based on solid growth fundamentals. We continue to be proactive in M&A activities with the goal of reinforcing Winncare’s position among the European leaders in products and services for dependency care.
