Winncare reduced its Carbon Emissions Index by -16.6% in 3 years!

In the spirit of the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), the Winncare ESG team is very excited to share some updates on our initiatives to reduce our environmental impact. Winncare is committed to addressing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions in order to reduce the Company’s carbon footprint (Carbon Emission Index i.e. CEI). Below is a breakdown of the aforementioned types of emissions:
  • Scope 1: direct emissions from company facilities and vehicles
  • Scope 2: indirect emissions from purchased energy such as electricity, heating, etc.
  • Scope 3: indirect emissions within the value chain (upstream and downstream) such as purchased goods and services; transportation and distribution; business travel; waste from operations; etc. (with the exception of end-of-life treatment of sold products)

Winncare continues to prioritize key initiatives in environmental sustainability, such as reducing energy consumption and launching eco-designed products.

One example is the Carewave Plus, a positioning cushion to assist with posture, which is packaged in 30% recycled material, and uses natural-coloured threads in order to reduce the use of chemicals and energy for the dyeing process. The new version of the Luna Ceiling Lift System is another great example of environmentally conscious design, as its tracks will be manufactured using over 75% post-consumer recycled aluminium.
