Providing sustainable products

We are committed to reduce our carbon footprint as we innovate for patients and caregivers. To do so, we look at the emissions throughout the entire life of our product: from design and conception through raw material used and production, to maintenance and end of life (recyclability).

Sustainable products to care about
patients and caregivers

"We are the Scope 3 of our Customers"

This is our Philosophy at Winncare : Customer Centric, Transparent and Sustainable.

As we move forward in our environmental journey, we aim to provide to our customers the Greenest solutions to support their engagement to limit Climate Change. To do so, we’re building Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) evaluation.

This evaluation captures all GHGs generated during the entire life cycle of a product, from raw material extraction, logistics, production and use to recycling or disposal. PCF is one component of Life Cycle Analysis (LCA)

Understanding emissions of our products means we put in place the most adapted  measures to reduce them.

Product Carbon Footprint in a few words

  • Captures GHGs emissions accross the life cycle of a product

  • Values our effort towards sustainability

  • Gives more visibility to customers to reduce their emissions

Eco-Design at the heart of our Roadmap

The Product Carbon Footprint evaluation is valuable knowledge for R&D teams.

Understanding the different emission centers for each product is the starting point of our Eco-Design development process. Whether it is design optimisation, resources consumption reduction or more sustainable materials identification, our R&D teams don’t exclude any new innovative and creative initiative that helps reduce emissions while providing the most edge-cutting technologies and solutions to make patients and caregivers lifes better.

How does "Eco-Design" work ?

Step 1: Adopt the proper calculation rules

Before diving into the details of the PCF calculation, it is important to understand the scientific frame for the analysis.

At Winncare we use the Base Empreinte© by ADEME. This Environmental database provides Emission Factors and evaluations on several products.

Step 2: Define the analysis perimeter from the life cycle of the product

Extraction

The impact of Natural resources extraction needed produce the raw materials of our products

Inbound Transport

The impact of shipping from our suppliers to our production facilities

Our impact

The emissions generated by our own manufacturing process

Use of our products

The energy consumption of our products while eing used by our customers

Transformation

The GHGs emission during the production process of raw materials

Energies

The indirect emissions of the energy consumed to manufacture our products

Outbound Transport

The impact of shipping our products from our factories to our customers

End of Life*

The impact of recycling and disposal of our products at the end of their life
*Due to lack of visibility, still not included in our evaluations

Step 3: Analyse the results and identify solution to improve the environmental impact

Going through the different phases of the lifecycle of the products, you will have deeper insight on the different emissions and environmental impact of the product.

What product ranges are covered by PCF evaluations?

Our aim is to encompass all product ranges in our analysis of Product Carbon footprint. Yet, it is an enormous workload for the teams that’s why we’re advancing step by step to increase the coverage of the analysis. Don’t hesitate to visit this page everynow and then to discover the latest figures.
